Meet the Course Author

Professor Dr. Karen Donovan

Karen Donovan, DNP, GCNS-BC, PHN is a board certified geriatric clinical nurse specialist with over 25 years of experience as a registered nurse. She has taught geriatric nursing to pre-licensure RN students in both the didactic and clinical setting for over 13 years. She is a member of the Gerontological Advance Practice Nurses Association (GAPNA) and the American Geriatric Society (AGS). Dr. Donovan strives to bring comprehensive and innovative learning experiences to her students in order to promote the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to optimize outcomes and provide the highest quality of care. Dr. Donovan is extremely passionate about nursing, nursing education, and in promoting optimal care for the geriatric population.
